About me
I am a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. I moved to Edmonton, AB, Canada, after completing my Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Poitiers and subsequently earned my Master's degree at the University of Rennes 1 in France. My current research focuses on the late Neoproterozoic to early Cambrian period, using field-based geology, sedimentology and isotope geochemistry to contribute to the reconstruction of ecosystems in Earth's history. Additionally, I am investigating the role of microbial mats on early animal life, searching for modern analogs to shed light to the biological controls of oxygen-producing microbial mats and microbialites on animals. The objective is to better understand which environments were advantageous for the early animals by examining the ancient sediments and modern ecosystems as an analogy.
I am currently working under the guidance of Pr. Kurt Konhauser and Pr. Murray Gingras.
